Misty Akers is the President and Co-Founder of The Akers Alves Group. With over a decade of experience in sales, business development, hiring and training, she brings her leadership and skills to our clients.
Misty served as the National Sales Director at Ideal Image Development Corporation. SheÂ began her career with the company as a franchise sales consultant. Within a year she was promoted to Regional Manager of the west coast territory, and later became Corporate Regional Director. As the Corporate Regional, sheÂ grew her department from just 6 centers to over 48 in an 18-month span.
As theÂ National Sales Director, Misty oversaw the growth of the company to over 120 locations and 2 National Call Centers. With the company's exceptional performance and growth, Ideal Image was sold to a publicly traded company in 2011.
Misty grew up in the Tampa Bay area, where she attended the University of South Florida and majored in Business Administration. She was also a member of the USF Softball team, and now serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the USF Athletic Alumni (Bulls Varsity Club). Misty went on to graduate education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she studied Sport and Leisure Services Management at the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. She currently lives in Tampa with her husband Dennis.
Amber Alves is the Vice President and Co-Founder of The Akers Alves Group. With over 13 years of experience in consultative sales, sales training, team building and business management, Amber helps others break barriers and shatter performance records.
After graduating from college, Amber opened her own personal training business, which she single-handedly grew across the city of Tampa. She was then recruited as a sales consultant for a developer of master-planned communities, generating $21 million in sales in three years before her promotion to Sales and Marketing Director. Amber later joined Ideal ImageÂ as aÂ sales consultant, and was quickly promoted to a Regional Director and Corporate Trainer. Her success and ability to transform low-performing centers into top producers led to Amber to become a national spokesperson for the company.
Amber graduated with honors from the University of South Florida, and represented her alma mater at the 2004 Track & Field Olympic Trials. She still holds several school and conference records, which she obtained while leading her team to a championship as team captain. She now lives in South Florida with her husband Thiago.
